To examine the effects of 2nd phase driver education in Finland and Austria


Survey methodology with examination of accidents, and attitudes to driving-relevant competencies. Completers of the 2nd phase education compared with non-completers.

Key Findings:

  • Findings were contradictory, with Finnish completers showing no safety benefit, but Austrian completers showing a safety benefit.

  • No changes in self-reported competencies found.
